TheĀ Taub Center for Israel Studies at New York University was established in 2003 with the support of the Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation, to advance the study of modern Israel: its recent history, society and politics, together with the history of the Zionist movement and the Yishuv. NYU’s pre-eminent position as a center of instruction and scholarship in Jewish history and thought, Hebrew language and literature, and Middle East Studies provides a natural setting for the development of Israel Studies.

Through the Taub Center, Schusterman supports post-doctoral fellowships for qualified Israeli academics to teach undergraduate courses on modern Israel, prepare their doctoral research for publication and work on the translation of their Ph.D. dissertations into English
