make it happen project

Calling all alumni of the South Africa Young Jewish Innovators Gathering!

In support of our commitment to the young Jewish innovators and entrepreneurs of South Africa, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation (CLSFF) has teamed up with its partner, ROI Community, Inc. (ROI) to bring you the Make It Happen South Africa Project: micro grants for macro change. We are providing micro grants of up to $500 U.S. per project to enable YOU to create exciting Jewish experiences in South Africa and to build the skills you need to change the world. We believe that small things really do make a BIG difference, and we’re relying on you to “Make It Happen!”

Who’s Eligible

Alumni of (i) the South African Young Jewish Innovators Gathering in Johannesburg (February 11 and 12, 2012), (ii) the kick-off event in Cape Town (August 10,2012) or (iii) the kick-off event in Johannesburg (August 13, 2012) are eligible to participate in the Make It Happen South Africa Project.

Projects and Limits

You may receive Make It Happen Project micro grants of up to $500 (approximately 4250 rand) per experience for projects that enable you to:

  • Participate in Jewish experiences and/or create Jewish experiences for yourself and your friends; OR
  • Develop skills to maximize your effectiveness at being an agent for social change

Requests are reviewed as they are received. Eligible participants may receive funds for one experience and may pool their funds with other participants.

Think creatively! What kinds of things would you do with $500? What are your friends interested in? Have you thought about hosting a Shabbat dinner? Convening a book group? Taking a public speaking class? Coordinating a community service project?

What’s YOUR idea?

Let’s Make It Happen!
