Schusterman Family Foundation Welcomes New National Staff

Roben Kantor joins as program associate, Lila Miller named Schusterman 2009-2010 D.C. fellow

Washington, D.C. – Sept. 17, 2009 – The Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, a leading U.S. philanthropy dedicated to supporting programs throughout the world that promote Jewish living, giving and learning, is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its staff.

Roben Kantor has been named a Program Associate in the foundation’s national office in Washington, D.C. She will be responsible for grant management, special projects and communications programs that support the foundation’s initiatives to strengthen Jewish identity and community.

Lila Miller has been named the foundation’s 2009-2010 D.C. fellow, responsible for assisting in grantmaking, program oversight and implementation, event planning and other activities. Established in 2003, the one-year D.C. fellowship is awarded to an outstanding recent college graduate who demonstrates a strong commitment to the foundation’s mission and interest in pursuing a career in the Jewish community.

“We are delighted to welcome two accomplished young professionals to help advance our mission of promoting Jewish living that is joyful, welcoming, relevant and strongly supportive of Israel,” said Lisa Eisen, the Foundation’s National Director. “Roben and Lila will be great assets to our staff and to our grantees as we strive to enhance our impact on the Jewish world.”

A journalist and media specialist, Roben Kantor worked previously at Designkitchen, a Chicago-based digital brand agency, where she specialized in social, viral and web-based content strategies. She was also an editor and reporter for World Jewish Digest. Roben holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Lila Miller previously served as the development coordinator for Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, Central Region, where she managed both the IMPACT! Scholarship Program and the Young Leadership program. She also worked at Starcom, a Chicago-based media agency, where she specialized in digital strategies. Lila earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in Hebrew studies from Northwestern University, where she graduated with honors.
