BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy
BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy guides Jewish young adults on individualized journeys of self-discovery and healing. Through nature-based therapy, BaMidbar is a pathway to recovery. BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy supports emerging adults who are struggling on their journey from adolescence to adulthood. BaMidbar will serve 18 to 26 year olds struggling with: anxiety, behavioral, and mild to moderate substance use disorders; family, school, and work problems; entitlement; mild self-harm; and negative life patterns. BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy guides Jewish young adults struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges on eight week therapeutic expeditions. The program uses wilderness and adventure-based experiences as a vehicle to promote the therapeutic growth of students, in a process guided and directed by a licensed mental health professional. Program activities include backcountry travel and wilderness living experiences, during which clinical assessment, treatment planning, and treatment interventions take place. Students have individual, group and family therapy sessions, and participate in activities that foster social growth and positive relationships. BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy is a program of Ramah in the Rockies, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit public charity.
