Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice
Bend the Arc seeks to reinvigorate the American Jewish community's communal purpose and reclaim their place at the forefront of the grassroots movement for freedom and justice, using the power and influence they have gained in recent generations to help bring a more just, fair and compassionate America into being. Bend the Arc is a home for American Jews to engage in social justice work as a core expression of their foremost Jewish values, and, for many people, a needed space in which they can explore the connections between the two, finding deep meaning, purpose and pride in Jewish history, ritual and culture, and becoming part of a community that embraces them as their full, unvarnished selves.
This approach has helped them become a central address and go-to for American Jews who are concerned about the divisiveness and hatred taking root in their country, and who wish to take action to re-establish the America that their ancestors came here to find. The Bend the Arc family of organizations consists of: Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, their 501(c)(3) organizing, education and leadership arm, is creating a new generation of leaders and a new community focused on upholding the proud tradition of American Jewish progressives; and Bend the Arc Jewish Action and Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC, their 501(c)(4) advocacy and political arms, harness the collective energy, passion and talent of progressive American Jews to change policy and elect leaders in service of a more just and equal nation.
Bend the Arc's scope of work incorporates three core approaches: (1) Leadership development, through programs that provide emerging and established leaders with the skills, knowledge and support necessary to become effective and sustainable change agents in their communities; (2) Organizing and base-building efforts to engage Jews at the grassroots level to take unified action that leverages their community's power to effect change; and (3) Advocacy work on issues that diminish inequality and increase opportunity for all Americans.
