Announcing the Under 30 Change-the-World Competition

We know that the Jewish community is full of talented young people with game-changing ideas. We and our partners work with them every day. Whether it is building systems that increase food security in Detroit, providing rescue assistance in Nepal or gathering their local community together in Warsaw to celebrate Shabbat, young Jews have proven time and again that they have the blueprints for change.

That is why we are so excited to help them take advantage of a tremendous opportunity for young social entrepreneurs across the globe.

We partnered with Forbes magazine, HeroX, the Wharton Social Impact Initiative, philanthropist Bob Duggan, and the Case, Pratt and Keywell Foundations to create the Under 30 Change-the-World Competition.

This global social impact challenge is specifically designed for social entrepreneurs in their 20s to advance solutions to global issues and provide a springboard to take their ideas to the next level.

As our President Sandy Cardin expressed, “Whenever great minds intersect with great ideas, the potential for positive impact is immense.”

“With the Change-the-World competition, young people in our community will have an incredible opportunity to infuse this inspiring international dialogue with a distinctly Jewish and Israeli dimension—and potentially to gain the support they need to realize their visions for change. We hope to see many Jewish and Israeli social entrepreneurs apply.”

The competition will offer a $1 million prize pool—the largest of its kind—to six outstanding semi-finalists piloting paradigm-shifting programs in the fields of education, healthcare, sustainable development, poverty, empowerment of women and girls, and inclusivity, equality and coexistence. Five semi-finalists will receive $100,000, and one overall winner will take home $500,000 to fund their groundbreaking idea and set it in motion.

The six semi-finalists will be announced in early September and will then compete onstage at the Forbes Under 30 Summit, October 4-7 in Philadelphia, where 2,000 of America’s most influential young entrepreneurs and innovators are expected to gather to share ideas, forge connections and invest in the big concepts of the future.

Submissions for the Under 30 Change-the-World Competition will be accepted from July 22 through August 26.
