The Charles Bronfman Prize recognizes Jewish humanitarians whose work, while inspired by personal Jewish values, is of universal benefit to all people.

The Charles Bronfman Prize accepts nominations in all areas of humanitarian endeavor across a broad spectrum of disciplines. Past recipients have distinguished themselves through their work in the environment, genetics, humanitarian relief, human rights, medical education, public education, the economy and storytelling to convey values across cultures.

Candidates are presented for consideration by a nominator with three supporting references. An internationally recognized panel of judges selects the Prize recipient(s) and bestows an award of $100,000.

Nominators from distinguished international institutions including community leaders, philanthropists, universities, scientific institutions, medical centers, the public and nonprofit sectors and religious institution identify qualified nominees. In turn, Judges of the Prize have been privileged to consider hundreds of candidates from around the globe -- young women and men whose specific body of work has had social impact. While most have sought to make change through non-profit mechanisms, the social good of others has been achieved through new vehicles of change, like the BCorporation.
