Circle Cinema Foundation
The Mission of the Circle Cinema Foundation is to use film to foster understanding and appreciation of the diversity of the human experience and create community among the viewers in the historic Circle Cinema. They work to create community consciousness through film.
Circle Cinema Foundation was formed in 2003 and purchased the historic Circle Theatre, a movie house that had originally opened in 1928. It began operations in 2004 with a single screen auditorium, an art gallery and a spacious lobby and gathering space. It now features four auditoriums of varying sizes. It is open seven days a week, 365 days a year primarily showing first-run, independent, documentary, foreign, and classic films. As a non-profit, art house cinema, Circle Cinema often hosts community events, special screenings, educational programming and film festivals. It even shows silent films using its original 1928 Robert Morton theatre pipe organ for live accompaniment.
