Emergency Infant Services
Emergency Infany Services (EIS)'s mission is to meet the basic human needs of infants and children through five years of age whose families are in crises. They have provided short-term, immediate assistance to struggling families for forty-one years. EIS provides an immediate lifeline to families who risk slipping into long-term poverty and suffering the serious consequences of malnourished children. The no-waiting-period, no-qualifying approach we offer helps alleviate childhood suffering immediately. With assistance from EIS, a family in economic crisis can receive food, formula and diapers. Last fiscal year, EIS assisted 18,805 children and 10,075 families with basic necessity items, including giving out 305,160 bottles of formula. EIS is unique in that it provides formula and other basic needs to families with no waiting periods and minimal paperwork based on the philosophy that a hungry baby cannot wait.
