IsraAID is a non-governmental organization that provides lifesaving emergency relief and longer-term, sustainable solutions for populations affected by natural disasters, epidemics and post-conflict situations. Since 2001, IsraAID has become synonymous with rapid response to humanitarian crises, with its medical teams, search and rescue units, post trauma experts and other professionals leading international responses in natural disasters and civil strife around the world.
IsraAID’s mission is to effectively support and meet the changing needs of populations as they move from crisis to reconstruction and rehabilitation, and eventually, to sustainable living.
Emergency Response: IsraAID responds immediately to humanitarian crises around the world. Depending on need, their experienced professionals provide specialist aid such as: medical care and mental health support, distribution of essential items, and water, sanitation and hygiene solutions.
Sustainable Development: Once the immediate needs are addressed, the team works with local partners to help affected communities recover and attain stable living. IsraAID builds local capacity via training, income generation and social empowerment initiatives.
As of 2018, IsraAID has responded to humanitarian crises in 46 countries, with on-going programs in 20. Their teams work in full collaboration with local partners and utilize Israeli innovation in the fields of water and agricultural technology, post-trauma counseling and field clinics. IsraAID teams arrive during crises, facilitate a transition to long-term stability, and then, plan an exit.
