We are thrilled to bring you three uniquely curated, intentional experiences to travel with a small cohort of REALITY alumni, explore our commitment to global responsibility and justice, learn from our wonderful partner organizations and take steps towards being the change needed in the world.

REALITY Tulsa

  • Thursday, March 24 - Sunday, March 27, 2022
  • $299 (includes journey fee and airfare)

About REALITY Tulsa
Our first immersive experience since the pandemic will be Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Schusterman family’s hometown. A cohort of 20 REALITY alumni from different journeys and years who represent our diverse community will join us in Tulsa in partnership with the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Together, we will explore Tulsa’s painful history, how Black and Jewish communities have grappled with racism and antisemitism, and how community-led organizations are working to address the ongoing impact of systemic racism in Tulsa today. This immersive journey is a commitment to understanding and addressing the inequities in our systems and to being a part of building a more just and inclusive society that provides liberation for all.

About REALITY Poland
REALITY Poland will explore the history of the Holocaust and examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance, and hatred. We will reflect on the lessons we can take from the Holocaust and what it means to be leaders of change in challenging times. By witnessing the atrocities of the Holocaust and the tragic history of antisemitism, we will strengthen our connection to Israel, Jewish values and our commitment to tikkun olam.

FAQs:

  • Can I travel with REALITY if I’m not vaccinated?
    • In order to participate in a REALITY Global Travel Experience, you must be fully vaccinated. Per the CDC’s website, people are considered fully vaccinated:
      • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
      • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

  • Do I need a booster shot?
    • REALITY and our partners, JDC Entwine and the George Kaiser Family Foundation, will be following CDC guidelines and recommendations in the cities and countries we are visiting and coming from. The CDC now recommends everyone over the age of 16 receive a booster shot six months after their last dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. We will update all participants should this become a requirement.

  • When will I hear if I’ve been accepted?
    • Acceptance and waitlist emails will be sent for all three Global Travel Experiences by mid-February. You will not have to put any money down until after you’ve been accepted.

  • Will I be refunded if REALITY must cancel one of these experiences because of COVID-19 risks?
    • All registration fees will be fully refunded should REALITY have to cancel the journey because of COVID-19. You will also be refunded should we postpone the experience, but you are unable to make the new dates.

  • Will my airfare be refunded if REALITY must cancel one of these experiences because of COVID-19 risks?
    • Participants are financially responsible for airfare for Rwanda and Poland. We recommend purchasing travel insurance should we have to cancel these experiences.
    • For Tulsa, airfare is included in your registration fee and therefore, if we cancel, you will be refunded for your flights as well.

  • Can I apply for more than one REALITY Global Travel Experience?
    • You are welcome to apply for all three but please let us know which one is your preference, as you will only be accepted for one. You can email [email protected] and let us know once you submit your applications.

  • Are subsidies available for REALITY Global Travel Experiences?
    • REALITY Global Travel Experiences are highly subsidized by Schusterman Family Philanthropies, as well as the George Kaiser Family Foundation (REALITY Tulsa) and JDC Entwine (Inside Rwanda). Limited needs-based subsidies are available upon acceptance to the individual program.
