Student success demands a holistic look at the many factors that influence a student’s education.

We believe excellent instruction is critically important for helping low-income students of color achieve their full potential. We also recognize that there are many other facets that have a significant impact on a student’s education.

To complement our work in other areas, we invest in organizations led by People of Color that are making an impact on the field of education. Many of these grantees support first generation college students and access to good jobs. We fund with the dual goals of helping these organizations reach more young people and enabling them to share what they do and learn with their peers.

We also fund in the area of computer science. We believe that careers in this field provide pathways to future economic opportunities—and that through targeted investments, we can ensure people of color are not left out of opportunities to thrive in this growing segment of our economy.
