Through more equitable policies and practices, we can increase the diversity of the educator workforce and better support all students.

Studies show students of color do better academically when a teacher of color is present. And yet, teachers of color are significantly underrepresented in the workforce. 

We aim to change that by investing in efforts to:

  • Increase the number and retention of teachers and school leaders of color;
  • Decrease inequitable school policies and systems that make it harder to attract and retain a diverse staff; and
  • Remove inequitable policies and practices that hinder students of color from accessing quality instruction.
