Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic (Parkside) has been providing exceptional, compassionate mental health services in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1961. In their 57 years, they have evolved from an outpatient clinic to a multifaceted agency providing inpatient, residential and outpatient care. They currently run a hospital for adults and adolescents who are experiencing acute mental health crises. They also have two residential programs serving children and adolescents ages 6-17. Through their outpatient clinic, their staff provide services to adults and children as young as age 6 whose needs range from medication management to intensive outpatient chemical dependency assistance. They serve about 1,800 people a year on an inpatient basis and maintain approximately 800 active outpatient cases. In October 2017, they broke ground on a new hospital that will allow us to increase their total inpatient beds from 71 to 136, as well as grow their outpatient offerings. The building is expected to be completed in April 2019. In addition to mental health services, they strive to go the extra mile to improve their patients' lives through their By Your Side patient assistance program. These additional services include a food pantry, clothing assistance and transportation assistance. Further, they believe in providing care that is innovative and evidence-based. To this end, they offer animal-assisted therapy, art therapy and yoga instruction to patients to complement the traditional therapies they are receiving.
