Policy Innovators in Education Network
The mission of the Policy Innovators in Education (PIE) Network is to connect state-level education advocacy organizations with colleagues across the country to amplify their voices and maximize their impact. They envision a powerful network of champions for education reform working together across the country for policies that ensure all kids have schools they deserve. The PIE Network is made up of diverse views and experiences from across ideological, ethnic and socio-economic spectrums. Currently, membership includes 71 state-level education advocacy organizations working in 34 states and Washington, D.C. along with 16 national partner organizations. All are nonprofits staffed by professional, informed advocates. These organizations are backed by credible leaders from within their states, and represent and engage the voices of families, educators and students in political action. Through the Network, advocates gain thought partners, resources and best practices. Because advocates stay connected, the Network enables the rapid dissemination of success stories, ideas and resources, and allows for coordinated, rapid responses to crises and opportunities. It fosters ongoing innovation within the education reform movement, and, most importantly, maximizes policy change for the students who count on champions to fight for the great schools they deserve.
