#Under30Summit

JERUSALEM (March 20, 2017) – Forbes today announced it will be hosting a Service Day in partnership with The Pratt Foundation, in Jerusalem on April 5, 2017, as part of its second Under 30 Summit EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The Service Day will cap off the summit’s efforts to leverage the results-driven mindset of the more than 600 summit attendees and truly make an impact in the local community.

“Service Day is one of the most significant elements of our Under 30 Summits, allowing Forbes and the young entrepreneurs we bring together to give back to our host communities,” said Randall Lane, Editor of Forbes magazine.  “Our goal this year is to help Forbes’ 30 Under 30 honorees capture the magic of the summit and inspire them to continue creating real change in their communities at home, in their organizations and companies around the world.”

As part of Forbes’ Service Day, the young leaders and game changers (many of whom are honorees of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 lists) who are attending this year’s five-day Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA, April 2-6, will have a choice of participating in the following:

Day of Innovation at Jerusalem Venture Partners Campus: Israel’s largest venture capital firm, Jerusalem Venture Partners will bring together the country’s top entrepreneurs from across a range of industries – from autonomous cars and biotech to edtech and clean energy – to its Jerusalem campus for a day to work with Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA participants to harness their cutting-edge technologies for the betterment of society. The day will end with a showcase of new breakthrough start-up- driven technologies for each of the sectors discussed.

Mentorship of Palestinian Entrepreneurs: Led by Apax Partners co-founder Sir Ronald Cohen, Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA participants will travel to the Palestinian city of Rawabi, a new development focused on startups, to meet and mentor young Palestinian entrepreneurs and explore new opportunities to drive prosperity and co-existence

Feeding the World from the Desert: Led by hosts Leket and Kaiima, another leading company in the Bio Agritech space, Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA participants will take a short trip to the world’s largest farm dedicated to food rescue – Leket Farm – to learn cutting-edge techniques in ag tech and food distribution. Participants will spend time in the field, learning about – and picking – food that will be distributed to Jewish and Arab families in need.

Archeological Dig at Khirbet El Rai excavation site, a newly discovered site dating back to the Kingdom of Judah. In an excavation led by renowned researchers Professor Yosef Garfinkel of Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Saar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Forbes Under 30 Summit EMEA participants will have the opportunity to uncover the ancient past and continue to unearth what lies beyond the rich destruction layer of a town that is over 3,000 years old.
