JERUSALEM, June 20 — More than 150 of the Jewish world’s leading young social innovators from 29 countries will convene in Jerusalem July 2-6 for the 2017 ROI Summit to seek knowledge, partnerships and inspiration that will empower them to help reshape the Jewish future. Best-selling French author and thought leader Bernard-Henri Levy will be a keynote speaker. The ROI Summit is the flagship program of ROI Community, an initiative of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation.

This year’s summit occurs on the heels of the 50-year anniversary of the Six-Day War. Given the historical significance of the year, and mounting global political challenges, the summit will include a special focus on strategies for fostering new and constructive dialogue, inspired by the city of Jerusalem and its ongoing social change efforts. ROI Summit participants will have the chance to physically immerse themselves in Jerusalem, while also drawing inspiration from its ideals and lessons from its approach to conflict.

A highly anticipated feature of this year’s summit is an event in which dozens of outside guests will engage in one-on-one meetings with participants. Billed as a “Brain Date Extravaganza,” the intent is to spark creative dialogue and collaborative thinking, give participants an opportunity to immerse themselves into the community and seek knowledge from local experts, and provide guests with a chance to tap into the incredible talent at the summit.

ROI Summit participants are involved in a broad range of projects that are already changing the world. These include building bridges between Israelis and Palestinians; developing networks of purpose-driven Jewish leaders around the globe; working to improve life for underprivileged communities; and scores of other dynamic and visionary careers and passion projects. These innovators are committed to pursuing social change, both within the Jewish community and in society at large. They will be joining ROI Community, a network of more than 1,200 young Jews representing over 60 countries.

The 2017 participants hail from: Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Uganda, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uruguay.

“The ROI Summit is much more than a conference,” said Lynn Schusterman, co-chair of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation. “It is a fertile meeting ground for the most creative, talented young minds working in the Jewish world. It is no coincidence that we bring them together in Jerusalem, a city that has both challenged and inspired humankind for thousands of years. It is here that we hope these rising young leaders will connect, create and collaborate on a vision for the future of our community.”
