Tulsa Advocates For The Protection Of Children Inc.
The mission of Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children (TAPC) is to improve the lives of abused and neglected children in Tulsa County through advocacy, resource development, best practice service provision and community outreach. The TAPC Foster Family Resource Center is designed to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of children in foster care. The FFRC through their partnership with DHS will provide immediate access to required basic needs including beds, cribs, clothing, car seats and other items at initial placement and continued monthly support as needed. TAPC views foster family retention as a component of their success. Foster families who feel supported continue to provide homes and create meaningful bonds and relationships that are so desperately needed by the children they serve. Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children provides a monthly fund for both the recreation/activity and basic needs of the children placed at the Laura Dester Children's Center (LDCC) and for the Journey Program incentives, a behavioral management program in collaboration with River Parks Developmental Center for children placed at LDCC.
