Aaron Miller
Aaron is a 2010 graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Metropolitan Strategic Development. Upon graduation, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to teach middle school math via Teach For America. After 2 years of teaching, he transitioned to the George Kaiser Family Foundation where served as the Director of Talent Strategy leading initiatives in talent recruitment and retention, entrepreneurship and downtown real estate development. At GKFF, Aaron launched the non-profit entrepreneur hub 36 Degrees North that now serves over 350 members in two locations.
In Fall 2017, Aaron returned to school (and his hometown of Chicago) to obtain his master’s at Northwestern in Learning & Organizational Change. His research focused on how leaders use office space and calendering to develop their followers and he built up expertise in organizational networks, talent and culture, organization design, and employee engagement. In 2019, Aaron joined Tempus, a fast-growing biotech data company in Chicago building the world's largest database of clinical and molecular data to fuel insights in the fight against cancer and other diseases. He leds all initiatives in talent development: performance management, leadership development, learning & development and workforce/succession planning.
During the pandemic (August 2020), Aaron and his partner Joe moved back to Tulsa and started a new organization called inTulsa. Part of a VC called Atento Capital, Aaron and his team match tech talent with innovative companies to grow the number of tech jobs in Tulsa. inTulsa is like a civic-minded recruiting firm that also helps companies develop deep partnerships in Tulsa while they grow their teams with developers, sales people, customer success, product, marketing, operations, finance talent and more.
Aaron is a bit of a Schusterman junkie. He participated in REALITY TFA in 2012, Connection Points in 2014, led REALITY TFA in 2016, attended ROI in 2016, and is a 2019 ROI Igniter in Chicago. From 2015 to 2018, he also worked as a Program Manager for the Revolve Community, the alumni network of education-focused REALITY alums, leading facilitation trainings and leadership gatherings across the United States. Aaron was a 2019 ROI Igniter for Chicago.
