Adam Finkel

Parner, Orfin Ventures

From Detroit, Michigan, Adam is a partner at Orfin Ventures, an incubator and deep-tech venture funder active across the world, funding deals alongside top-tier funds like Google Ventures, First Round Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Data Collective and Kleiner Perkins. Adam is a member of the ROI network for global Jewish innovation, raised $100,000 to bring the Moishe House concept for Jewish young adult living to Detroit, and is a JN contributing writer. He is also on the boards of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, the Michigan Israel Business Bridge, NEXTGen, NEXTGen Connect, and the Detroit chapter of the Technion. He also serves as Outreach co-chair and Steering Committee member of the Detroit Homecoming (http://bit.ly/1BQlSAz), recruiting the 170 most successful Detroit ex-pats back to Detroit for a yearly conference. Adam also serves on the advisory council of Joshua Venture Group and is involved with a group that helps young Jewish Detroiters find jobs and internships in the community. Previously, he interned at the White House, served as an AJC Goldman Fellow and did research for a Pulitzer-nominated publication. The thread that ties all of Adam’s communal, philanthropic, and business work together is creativity. He is drawn to help all of the communities thrive by being as inclusive, innovative, and sustainable as possible. Building bridges between the organized and the grassroots worlds, Adam most enjoys spearheading new ways for the organized world to embrace disruptive ideas that respectfully challenge the status quo - inspired to a great degree by his participation in ROI several years back!
