Dr Andre Oboler is CEO of the Online Hate Prevention Institute and a Senior Lecturer in the Law School at La Trobe University. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and servers on it's Global Public Policy Committee and as Vice Chair (Geographic Activities) on the Memberhship and Geographic Activities Board of the IEEE Computer Society. He holds an Honours Degree (Australia) and PhD in Computer Science (UK), as well as a Juris Doctor (Australia). He also compeleted a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Political Science (Israel). He is a member of the Australian Government's delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, serves as an elected representative on the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, and as a member of the Executive of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria. He previously served as a co-chair of the Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism and co-chair of its Working Group on Antisemitism on the Internet and in the Media, as a blogger for the Jerusalem Post, and as National Secretary of the Union of Jewish Students (UK) and Deputy on the Board of Deputies of British Jews (UK). He's worked for the Zionist Federation of Australia, served as a Legacy Heritage Fellow at NGO Monitor, and is a graduate of Monash University’s John Bertrand Leadership program. He has been a member of the ROI Community since 2008.
