Anna Bakula lives in Warsaw, Poland where she was born and raised. She devoted a great deal of her personal and most of her professional life to invigorating Jewish community in Poland. She wrote here MA thesis in clinical psychology on post-traumatic stress disorder and third generation Holocaust survivors.
During her studies Anna Bakula has cofounded the Polish Jewish Youth Organization (the first Jewish Youth NGOs in Poland) of which she was four times elected President (2009-2012). In 2011-2013 she was the Vice President of European Union of Jewish Students and integral in launching Moishe House in Warsaw. In 2009 Anna Bakula has cofounded the first community center for Progressive Judaism in Poland – the Ec Chaim Synagogue – where she worked as a coordinator (2012-2014). In 2014 she was elected Member of the Board of the Jewish Community of Warsaw were she currently works as a treasurer.
Anna Bakula is also a trainer in The Forum for Dialogue among Nations, a Polish NGOs whose mission is to foster Polish-Jewish dialogue, eradicate anti-Semitism and teach tolerance through education.
