Anna was born in the former Soviet Union and made aliyah with her family in the early 90s, initially to kibbutz Yiron before moving to Karmiel. As the first Russian family to live in the kibbutz, made Anna and her family integrate into Israeli society fast, learn Hebrew quickly, and become “real Israelis” in no time. During her IDF service, Anna was stationed in a combat engineering regiment where she assisted new immigrant soldiers with Hebrew studies and helped bridge the cultural gap between them and their commanders. Anna studied political science and sociology, followed by an M.B.A. in marketing from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. During her studies, she met her husband and together they fell in love with the city and became true Jerusalemites. Anna worked as the social media manager for the Jerusalem municipality spokesman’s office. She was responsible for developing and implementing all creative digital marketing initiatives in order to deliver the city’s agenda in an interesting and creative way to Jerusalem’s residents. In 2015 she worked together with Alex Rif and Boris Rozenberg to establish the “Israeli Novy God” initiative as well as the Operation Veteran (Victory Day over the Nazis) initiative that aimed to collect and share the personal stories of Russian-speaking veterans currently living in Israel. Together they also founded the Cultural Brigade, a nonprofit that promotes the culture of Russian speaking Israeli Jews in the Israeli public sphere. Anna has recently begun a new journey, as a mother to Zoey as well as the new social media manager of the National Library of Israel.
