Anna Vainer is Co-founder of Katra Experiential Learning. An educational consultant and program developer, she leads and collaborates with numerous international projects in informal education, community building and social entrepreneurship.
Anna was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and made aliyah to Israel at age 11. She later served as a lieutenant in the IDF and was discharged with honors. What began as a summer job as a camp counselor turned into a decade-long professional career in informal Jewish education. A teacher and trainer, Anna has learned from her participants across North America, the FSU and Israel. She has launched and directed numerous educational projects for the Jewish Agency for Israel and Oranim College of Education. After three intense years in New York as an emissary of the Jewish Agency directing a team that engaged Northern American Jews from Russian speaking families, Anna returned to Haifa.
Her expertise is in training others to develop exciting and meaningful programming on Jewish identity and culture. Anna holds an M.B.A. in nonprofit management, a B.A. in human services and political science and a kid in each arm.
