Ariela Lijavetzky
Ariela is the Youth Venture Coordinator for Ashoka Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. She started her work at Ashoka in 2015, leading the "Generación Cambio" youth gathering, where participated more than 300 youth from all around the country. Since then, Ariela has lead many initiatives related with Youth and Changemaker Education.
Ariela studied Educational Sciences at Buenos Aires University and has participated in many leadership programs and seminars. Ariela strongly believes in Ashoka´s message that "everyone can be a changemaker" and that it is important to put empathy, teams of teams, and circular leadership in the center of our actions if we want to do things for the good of all.
She has a lot of experience in the educational sector, where she has worked as a teacher in kindergartens and primary schools, as well as an Israeli Folk Dance teacher, and also Director of non formal education in Macabi Buenos Aires, an important organization in the local Jewish Community, where she grew up from being a child, then in charge of activities as madricha, and after many different positions she is now in charge of staff training and innovative programs in education.
Ariela is a member at the Latin American Jewish Congress (New Generation Program) where she leads projects mainly related to interfaith dialogue and changemakers development among Youth. As a Schusterman Connector in 2014 together with a friend she invited to be part of this amazing community, she founded LAZOS, the Jewish Latinamerican Network that connects Young Professionals, where she doesn´t work professional anymore but still collaborates often with this network.
In 2011, she spent six months in Israel as an intern at an African Asylum Seekers organization, ASSAF, where she coordinated the Youth Club.
Ariela has also been Taglit madricha and Limmud Buenos Aires coordinator and volunteer for many years.
She is married with Leo and she loves dancing, spending time with family and friends and keeping always her inner child alive!
