Brian Heimberg has lived in China where he helped launch Bluepath City Consulting; a successful Beijing based ecological city design and planning firm (www.bluepathcity.net). Brian got his start circuitously, first setting up a sustainable agriculture consumer advocacy institute out of San Francisco before moving to China to oversee business development for Shanghai Organics, one of China's first and largest official organic produce wholesalers. Brian later lead Agriculture Development Planning for Eco-city projects at Shanghai Industrial Investment Corporation where, incidentally he became the state-owned enterprise's first foreign employee. Combining his passion for food and exploration, Brian created Edible Adventures, a bespoke culinary tour company based in China (www.edibleadventures.net). Brian is from Santa Barbara, California, speaks Mandarin Chinese, and holds an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley where he created his own major, "Food Politics." He is now located back in California and is working on China energy efficiency issues. Here's a blurb on what he's up to: http://china.lbl.gov/researchers/brian.heimberg.
