The Jewish Leadership Council work to ensure a vibrant and safe UK Jewry, assure our positive and proactive place within British Society, and articulate our proud Jewish identity and culture. As Director of Community Strategy David works with and for JLC member organisations, coordinating creative and collaborative work on shared communal priorities. Currently this includes work on social care for older people; children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing; and longer-term financial planning for our community’s charitable sector.
David’s previous roles include CEO of the Union of Jewish Students [UJS], Campaigns Manager at JHub, Youth Worker at Redbridge JCC, and Social Responsibility Manager and Leadership Training Coordinator at UJIA. David co-founded the Lead Now programme; was the European lead professional on Siach, a global Jewish social justice network; has written for UK and international Jewish Press; and collated and edited ‘Land of Milk and Honey; Tales of Goats and Apples’ – a collection of Israeli stories and an educational resource celebrating 60 years of Israel’s independence that was republished with a sevent chapter for Israel 70.
David is a member of the ROI Community, formerly a trustee of the Jewish Youth Fund, and has previously volunteered with Limmud and Keshet UK. David lives with his husband Adam in East London, enjoys the current highs after many years of lows of being a Spurs fan, and is a proud uncle of six nephews and one niece.
