Eszter Lanyi lives in Budapest, Hungary. She has worked in the fields of education and culture for the past 15 years. Eszter has produced and hosted a variety of Jewish and cultural radio shows and has contributed to a Jewish hipster blog in Hungary since the beginning of the 2000’s. In 2001, Eszter co-created the Haver Foundation, an organization that provides informal Jewish education to non-Jews and she is still active as the chairperson of the board.
Eszter served as the cultural attache of Hungary in Israel between 2007-2011, which was a dream come true, as she did what she knows best: connecting people and sharing cultural values. Eszter recently launched Mitbach, a Jewish adult learning program and is the Head of External Relations at the Lauder School and since August 2013, as the Director of External Relations at the Lauder School in Budapest.
Eszter also contributes to the website of the Slovakian Jewish community by writing a very personal city guide about Tel Aviv. She often gives lectures and participates in panel discussions. She was once described by a friend as a creative, fun and “no bullshit person.”
