Ilya Friedman
Ilya was born in Moscow, grew up in Philadelphia, and currently lives in San Francisco. In 2005 Ilya’s father suffered a heart attack. Ilya has been passionate about health technology ever since.This led him to become the founder and CEO of LumLife, a health technology startup based in Silicon Valley. He developed the idea with his cofounder at the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps in January 2017. Since then, the team has grown considerably and has completed the Startup School at Y-Combinator, the Stanford BUS 217 Accelerator, and the Fund and Form Fellowship at Berkeley. As of January 2018, LumLife is testing its product with approximately 100 users through a private alpha. Ilya also founded the Russian Speaking Jewish Moishe House of San Francisco. Serving as a hub for young adults, this nonprofit organization is the only community for Russian-speaking Jews in all of Northern California. It hosts a minimum of five events every month with themes ranging from Jewish learning, Jewish culture and holidays, tikkun olam, and social gathering. For many of its members, this is their only place to meet and get together with Russian Jewish friends. Prior to his current venture, Ilya worked for Intuitive Surgical, the world’s largest manufacturer of surgical robotics where he oversaw financial operations for the engineering and R&D divisions. Ilya is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is currently getting his M.B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley.
