Jacob Shwirtz

Head of Partnerships, WeWork

Jacob Shwirtz leads Media, Entertainment and Talent Partnerships at WeWork.

Previously, he was Chief Social Media Officer for Endemol Beyond USA, having helped start the digital business in November, 2013, on behalf of the world’s largest content producer. In this unique role, Jacob led a digital brain trust that maximized the potential of social media as a global storytelling platform, working across a myriad of TV and digital-native projects, brands, and talent.

Before Endemol, Jacob stewarded ‘future of television’ initiatives across all broadcast and digital properties of Viacom, serving as internal expert on social viewing and social media. Blending strategy, business development, and product management, he amplified the company’s response to emerging trends. Before moving to Viacom corporate, Jacob pioneered dozens of initiatives that bridged linear TV and digital strategy for MTV and VH1.

As a digital entrepreneur, Jacob ushered Zagat Survey into social media (prior to their acquisition by Google) and created TweetBookz, a service offering personalized coffee table books of tweets. In 2012, he was named as one of the top 10 social media mavens in media by Multichannel News.

Jacob is a regular advisor to startups in the social media space and holds memberships with the Producer’s Guild of America and the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences, in addition to being an active, certified, competitive BBQ judge.
