Jalisia Taylor Singleton
Jalisia Taylor-Singleton is a Strategic Data Fellow for Education Grantmaking, supporting the Policy and Public Understanding portfolio. Prior to the fellowship, Jalisia was a Research Manager at the University of Chicago managing large-scale randomized controlled trials and technical assistance with the Chicago Public Schools.
Before working at the University of Chicago, Jalisia was working at the Rhode Island Department of Education. Jalisia was a Graduate Research Intern in the Office of Educator Excellence where she developed an equity toolkit for teacher preparation providers in Rhode Island to prepare teacher candidates to teach in culturally diverse environments. Her interest in education equity stems from her family who instilled in her a love for learning and a commitment to justice. Her career began teaching gifted and talented middle school science in Metro Atlanta, where she calls home.
Jalisia earned a B.A. in Sociology and Communication Studies from Vanderbilt University and a M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.
