As Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy, Jen Bluestein works collaboratively across the Philanthropies’ different portfolios to maximize impact, build internal capacity, and identify opportunities. 

Jen is a seasoned leader of national advocacy, electoral, and strategic communications efforts who has spent more than two decades in the non-profit, media, and political sectors. She’s built new organizations like Leadership for Educational Equity and Giffords from the ground up; managed through crises and opportunity, and nurtured talent at the candidate and staff level for decades. Most recently, Jen’s consultancy Athena Strategy Partners worked as a strategist with clients like Paid Leave for All and Giffords, and she served for seven years as Deputy Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. 

Jen is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a degree in Art History and Literature. She’s a passionate reader who loves local politics and spending time with her toddler and extended family, who live nearby in Massachusetts.
