Joell Leskin
Joey is a Yemeni Jew from London yet has spent much of the last decade out of the city, visiting over 50 countries. He currently works for KAHAL Abroad as their Director of Abroad Experiences, helping young people connect with Jewish experiences worldwide. Prior to this, he gained a Masters Degree in International Relations and Global Issues, followed by a role with the JDC as their Senior Fieldworker in Istanbul. His love of different cultures, education and Judaism continually fosters an exploration of intersections between the three. Examples include: a cutting-edge online educational resource for Jewish youth movements and schools about marginalized groups in Israel; an innovative audio-tour of London for VoiceMap that is one of the most downloaded on the platform; and spearheading the Istanbul Jewish school’s new Cultural Studies curriculum. He lectures for Jolt, has presented at Limmud in three continents, and drums for the EasternBeats Live band.
