Ioni Shalom is the Rabbi at Bet Hilel community in Palermo (Buenos Aires, Argentina), since 2017 and also serves both at the Latin-American and at the World Jewish Congress, focusing on inter-religious dialogue. Rabbi Ioni also served as rabbi at BAMI - Marc Chagall community school for four years and has been the assistant rabbi and community director for 15 years at Tefilat Shalom, Fundacion Judaica, NCI - Emanu El and Sociedad Israelita del Oeste. He also worked at the Wolfsohn, Arlene Fern and Ramat Shalom primary schools and in non-formal education.
He has studied at the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano "Marshall T. Mayer", in Buenos Aires and the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, in Jerusalem. He also holds a B.A. in management for NGO's from the General San Martin National University and in System Analysis/Programming from the ORT Institute of Technology.
