Jonathan Frenkel is an American born to Israeli parents who brings with him an authentic understanding of Israel's culture, politics and society, as well as a familiarity with the community and its needs. Jonathan represents the atypical American/Israeli hybrid, having spent many years in Israel, including time in an IDF infantry unit. Following the end of his army service, Jonathan remained in Israel as Director of Operations for Bakto Flavors, promoting and expanding the company to the Israeli market. Upon returning to the United States, Jonathan became involved with Dor Chadash for over three years as a volunteer and lay leader, including spending time as a board member. In addition, he sat on the board of another young leadership organization, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, and was actively involved in Jewish life in Manhattan. Jonathan joined Dor Chadash full-time in August 2011, where, as, Executive Director, he oversaw 80 major events, including a premier Israeli fashion show, and the largest Independence Day outside of Israel, featuring New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
