Jonny Cline has been in Israel since the tender age of 18, almost half of his life. Married to Shlomit, and father to Yishai (10), Adar (7) and Yarden (4), the Cline family lives in Modiin.
Having left his earlier career in organizational development in hi-tech, Jonny spent the last decade and a half in the Israeli public sector, on shlichut in Canada for the Jewish Agency, and for the past eight years he has been working in the Israeli third sector (philanthropy and nonprofit).
Jonny is the Founder and Director of UK Toremet Ltd, a UK charity charged with the promotion of the culture of philanthropy, and working as a conduit for charitable donations from the UK for Israeli and other nonprofits. He hopes to open similar nonprofits in other countries in the future. Jonny founded the online arena Fundraiser.co.il as a pastime aimed at advancing the level of professionalism in the resource development profession by means of open professional discussion and debate. As one of the founders of The Israeli Association of Professional Fundraisers, Jonny was responsible for compiling and translating the Code of Ethics. He also volunteers on the steering committee of the nonprofit and public sector division of Gvahim, an organization that works to facilitate the successful absorption of new immigrants in Israel, on the steering committee of Israel Connect, an organization that facilitates the personal connection between Jews from around the world from their early school years, on the board of directors of social innovation incubator "Topaz" and as CEO of the (currently dormant) Israeli nonprofit Israel 2020.
Jonny is currently the Executive Director of UNICEF Israel.
