From Sydney, Australia, Joshua is a deeply passionate and driven businessman, community worker, and social entrepreneur. Joshua visited Israel for the first time with his grandfather (a Holocaust survivor) during his bar mitzvah year. On reflection, he believes that that trip, together with his Jewish and Zionistic education and upbringing, created a love for Israel that now drives his professional, philanthropic, and personal endeavors. Two years ago Joshua made the change from corporate lawyer at the international law firm Ashurst Australia to become a co-founder and partner of a new Israel-Australia venture capital fund due to be launched in the first half of 2017. Joshua has become very active in the Israeli and Australian startup ecosystem, where he focuses on building strong networks and connections as well as raising awareness about Israel’s culture and success as the Start Up Nation. Joshua is a board member and active fundraiser for Keren Hayesod in Sydney. Founded in 1920, UIA continues to support programs and projects that meet the ever-changing challenges facing the State of Israel and world Jewry. Joshua believes that in this way he is playing an active role in ensuring Jewish continuity in the current and future generations. In 2016, Joshua spearheaded Israel Now, a contemporary art exhibition showcasing Israeli artists, which also provided a wonderful cultural link between Israel and Australia. Joshua believes he has the determination and ability to turn his dreams into reality. He has always been involved in various sports both training and competing.
