Matt is a service year advocate, combat veteran, social entrepreneur, and founder of Service Year, the first American national service program modeled after the Israeli national service. Previously, Matt worked at Colgate-Palmolive and Gerson Lehrman Group. Matt received his M.B.A. from Cornell University and B.A. from Colorado College, where he was President of the Student Body and Campus Manager for Teach For America. Following graduation, Matt turned down an offer to join an investment bank to volunteer as a lone soldier in the Israel Defense Forces. Matt is the co-founder of Aluf Stone, the IDF lone soldier veterans association, one of the youngest members to serve on AIPAC’s National Council, attended The Conversation, and is a keynote speaker for the Birthright Israel Foundation. Matt is a PresenTense Fellow, StartingBloc Fellow, Nexus member, American Express 50 Under 40, and 2014 #GivingTuesday NYC Pitch Competition winner. Matt is originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
