With a strong personality, determined and passionate about the world, Melina always knew how to turn great challenges into opportunities in her dynamic life. At 19 she became the General Director of the Motorcycle Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro, a position she held for six years. This period was extremely important for her personal and professional development, but it was only after Taglit, organized by Hillel Rio, that her life took the right direction. Although Melina’s father is Jewish she grew up far removed from Judaism. That changed after she became involved with Hillel. When she returned from Taglit she was delighted by Hillel, Israel, and her new friends and decided to know and learn more about their community. Melina became an active member of and participant in Hillel events and decided to "explore" the potential of Rio’s Jewish youth, creating new projects and becoming a leader of the local community.
