Menachem grew up in Melbourne, Australia,in a predominantly traditional/Orthodox community, though his home was far from the standard traditional Jewish home. His parents were always involved in Jewish outreach and empowerment and thus constantly had guests of many colours and stripes eat at the table, stay over, or attend weekly classes in the dining room. Although Menachem grew up religious and graduated from one of the most prestigious rabbinical colleges in Australia, he went through a process of self discovery and spiritual awakening that led him to become director of an emerging organisation (which he founded with his father) called Spiritgrow. Spiritgrow is an organisation that brings the teachings of Jewish spirituality and contemporary life sciences together in an applied manner (e.g. mindfulness classes, cuisine demonstrations, kabbalah sessions, guest presenters in all areas of personal growth) in order to help people live better and more fulfilled lives. Spiritgrow naturally cuts across all 'denominations' in the Jewish community and provides services to individuals, organisations, and groups so that all can live/operate in the healthiest way possible (physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually). Menachem’s unique style and attitude informs the mission and vision of Spiritgrow and has created a place that isn't just a community centre in Melbourne, but has become a training institute and model for teachers, rabbis, and youth leaders, as well as organisations. Spiritgrow shows others how to incorporate teachings and exercises that assist in bettering health and wellness, personal and time management, relationships, and achieving a life of fulfilment.
