Nel Nelly Ben Ami
Nel was born and raised in Beer Sheva, Israel. As a teen she was an avid tennis player, and was ranked 1 in the country. She also spent six years as an officer in the Israeli Air Force, serving in several different positions, incluidng company commander. After the army, Nel studied law at IDC Herzliya, and completed her LL.B. summa cum laude. She also had an .B.A. with a speciality in international commercial law, magna cum laude. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in law. While studying, Nel worked as the legal assistant to Prof. Aharon Barak, former president of the Supreme Court. She is also founder of the Academic Department of the Student Union, and graduated with honors from the Rabin Leadership Program. About a year and a half ago, Nel co-founded "Starter- Jump Starting Dreams" which aims to strengthen and enhance the potential of teenagers at risk by providing relevant knowledge, life skills, and other tools to help them integrate in the world of employment. In the past year, Nell was chosen (out of 1,300 female students) to participate in the IVLP program Women Make Change, sponsored by the American Embassy in Israel. Nel is currently a lawyer at the law firm of S. Horowitz. She is also a teaching assistant in a course on corporate governance at IDC Herzliya, and continues to serve on active duty in the reserves.
