Noemi schlosser

director Jerusalem Opera, salomee speelt

Theater writer, director, producer originally from Belgium, Noemi Schlosser started her theater company back in 2004 focussing mainly on (Jewish) themes and modern approaches towards questioning the place of the individual within society. Her company Salomee Speelt performed on 4 continents and in 5 languages mixing music, theater and film. Since 2013, Noemi also became part of the Ministry of Operatic Affairs a Belgian opera collective with whom she created 5 productions.

In 2017 Noemi decided to make aliyah and continued working on her documentary series 'The Youth of 1948' interviewing the people who built Israel and the Independence war. Meanwhile, she also started at the Israeli opera, teaching at the Jerusalem University and directing several opera performances through Israel.

In 2019, directed the Israeli premiere of the opera La Colombe/Gounod for the Jerusalem Opera. In 2021 she premiered the first post corona opera production in Jerusalem with Two Madcap Parisian Operettas.

As a result of the pandemic and with live performances being at a  standstill, Noemi currently returns to researching and writing with the musical production 'The four seasons of Hester Street' .
