Omer, a 28-year-old Tel Avivian, is an acclaimed director of commercials and music videos and has worked with Israel’s leading brands and singers. He is currently working on developing a prime time TV series commissioned by Israeli Broadcaster Keshet, as the head creator and screenwriter. Omer’s film Hounds was selected as the opening film of the Tel Aviv Short Films festival, and won Best Short Film at the Haifa Film Festival. Omer is a founder and party producer as well as art director for Arisa, a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern style music party platform catering to the LGBT community. Arisa discusses the relationship between Mediterranean music and gender and through Arisa, Omer has created a unique aesthetic and musical language; one that has garnered millions of views on the Internet and wide discussions in academic circles. He has been invited to lecture all over the world; a retrospective of video clips and movies created for Arisa was presented in the Mix-Brasil Film Festival in Sao Paolo; his work The Holy One Blessed Be He, created for Arisa, was screened in the Japan Art Biennale. During his mandatory military service, Omer served in the IDF Home Front Command filming unit; there he directed multi-camera studio shootings for times of emergency, and founded the emergency visual information array.
