Vice President, Marketing & Communications, Honeymoon Israel
Bright-blue-eyed and bushy-tailed, Rachel is proud of her recently-founded southern roots. Rachel lives in Atlanta with her husband, Josh, and their sweet dog, Denver, who was rescued at the ripe age of three. Raised in Cleveland, Rachel kicked off her post-college life in an Ethiopian-Israeli community for a year of service-learning with Yahel. This experience was a turning point, laying the foundation for a life of understanding the 'other,' specifically within our Jewish community. Following Israel, Rachel landed in D.C. to join a powerful two-woman team and manage grants for the Tikkun Olam Women's Foundation. Love soon took her south, where Rachel managed grants for the Community Foundation for Atlanta. In 2015, Honeymoon Israel (HMI) hit the radar of the Jewish community - providing group trips to Israel for couples with at least one Jewish partner. "This is it!" Rachel said, "This organization is going to change the Jewish world." With only six months and two trips under their belt, HMI Co-CEOs began searching for their 3rd partner-in-crime to take HMI to the next level. Rachel joined them as VP of marketing and communications. In three years, HMI expanded to 16+ cities, 55+ trips, bringing 1,100+ couples to Israel. HMI's relevant, innovative, non-prescriptive, and inclusive approach to welcoming couples of diverse backgrounds, and the 'other,' to Jewish life and community is making waves. HMI exists as a catalyst experience, helping couples build Jewish families and find meaningful ways to incorporate Judaism into their lives.
