His upbringing in Nachlaot by his religious family of Syrian descent has exposed him to Jewish and Arab culture from an early age. The drive to create art, culture and entertainment, and use them to build bridges between people and communities stems from his diverse roots. Ram is involved in many different initiatives in the fields of art and performance, of which the most significant current project is MONOLINGUA, which he founded and heads as DJ Ramzy. Monolingua is a bi-monthly cultural event in a Jerusalem music venue dedicated to Arab language and culture, composed of contemporary Arabic electronic music in which he hosts Arab and Jewish DJs and rappers. The series participated in the Indinegev festival, Indicity festival and Kulna festival and travels in Israel and abroad. He is currently opening a music label dedicated to new Arabic music and culture in the Middle East with collaborations with local artists. Ram is the artistic music director of the Nocturno Live Venue and the music festivals Mekudeshet and Menofim. He is a graduate of Nisan Nativ theatre school and works as a film and theatre actor with award-winning roles in both.
