Ran is an entrepreneur, sexual health expert, and scholar pursuing a doctorate in gender studies at Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Prof. Catharine A. Mackinnon (Harvard Law School, University of Michigan at Ann-Arbor). To promote an understanding of and appreciation for gender equality and “emotionally safe sex,” Ran exposes pornography use as unjust and unhealthy, connecting the dots between porn, prostitution, and women-trafficking. He offers education on love, intimacy, and relationships as an alternative path to fulfilled sexuality, and gives over 400 talks a year on the topic. Diverse experience as a combat soldier and growing up in a household governed by addiction and poverty, Ran is committed to advocate for minorities and underprivileged communities on a political-strategic level, seeing society as a whole accountable for general well-being. Ran is a renowned activist, speaker and mentor across the globe. His TEDx talk “Why I Stopped Watching Porn” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRJ_QfP2mhU) has been viewed by more than 10 million people, making his talk the most viewed anti-porn and anti-trafficking video in the world.
