Sam is a rabbi and an entrepreneur from London, England. He is married to Hadassah, a psychologist and sex therapist, and the father of Arielle and Nadavya. Although educated in a non-Jewish school, as a teenager Sam served on the National Executive of BBYO where he was responsible for Jewish and Zionist education, and flew to Texas to represent the U.K. at BBYO’s International Convention. He was also a madrich for Taglit UK. Sam spent two years in yeshiva in Jerusalem, studied natural sciences in Cambridge, and then returned to Israel to complete his Orthodox rabbinic ordination. After receiving smicha, Sam came back to the U.K. to work in asset management, followed by a stint at a hedge fund and family office. He now bridges communal and business worlds, serving as an assistant rabbi in Golders Green Synagogue, while also running an insurtech startup, yulife. The company is designing the future of insurance using intuitive tech, behavioral psychology, and the latest in data science. The business has a mission to inspire people to be their best self: mind, body, and spirit, and reward them for making simple and healthy lifestyle decisions. In Golders Green Synagogue, Sam gives sermons, officiates at lifecycle events, and runs educational/social programs for families and young adults. He is an amateur triathlete, leads HIIT sessions in Regents Park, and is running in the London marathon for charity in April.
