Sam Heller

CEO, Sam Heller Communications

Sam Heller is an active member of the Jewish community, participating in social justice projects around the world. He participated in two Jewish National Fund Alternative Spring Break projects in Israel and was part of a Jewish Federation delegation to St. Petersburg, Russia, for a Passover project. After Hurricane Katrina, Sam worked with Kesher in Utica, Mississippi, to provide supplies to those who were in need. Sam, who majored in history at UCLA, was part of the Ha'aretz newsroom during the Second Lebanon War in 2006. He has also contributed to the ADL and AJC in Los Angeles. In recent years, Sam participated as a NewGround cohort working to advocate Muslim/Jewish coexistence. He went on a group trip to Poland through the joint efforts of Harriet Mandel's public policy group—The Global Roundtable—and the Polish Foreign Ministry. He spoke at the Gesher Festival of Jewish Life in Bulgaria and was a participant at a Lynn Schusterman conference on social justice in Budapest.

Currently, he volunteers for Corazon de Vida, recruiting young Jewish professionals to volunteer for hearing missions and obtains funding for some medical instruments through Repair the World and Indiegogo/Schusterman. He co-leads yearly hearing mission trips to Israel. He is also involved with the JNFuture serving on their Gaza Task Force and marketing committee.
On the professional side, Sam is an interactive marketing specialist, media relations professional and freelance writer/researcher for Sam Heller Communications. He is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles, with a degree in history. He currently represents a variety of clients in the corporate, non-profit and agency world, including his role as a contract PR director at the Los Angeles-based auction house, Nate D. Sanders.
