Tamara was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she studied at a Jewish school and was also a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. Growing up in this enviornment Tamara developed a deep bond with Judaism, a true connection with Israel, and experienced the power of belonging to a community. It was also during this period that she became involved in social movements and tikkun olam, exploring ways she could contribute to make this world a better place. Since then, Tamara has studied different things, traveled to different places, and had many different jobs, all of them centered around working with people! Through these diverse experiences she realized that she has a natural talent for working with people, encouraging them to face their fears and make their dreams come true. Two years ago, she discovered the power of music to turn off our fears and open our hearts to trust. Ilumina Rio, a project Tamara leads with six friends in Rio, was born from this discovery. Ilumina Rio is a project of urban intervention and co-creation, where social relationships find new meaning through a collective experience. Through music and the arts, a welcoming space based on essential human values of Love, Unity, Connection, Truth, and Trust is born. Launched last June, there have already been many cities worldwide inspired by Ilumina Rio, and we are working to spread this movement to awaken love through music and arts in urban public spaces.
