Valentin was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, but moved to Israel with his parents at the age of two. His parent’s divorced when he was four and his father moved to Moscow, while Valentin and his mother moved to Tbilisi, Georgia. He was raised in a Jewish family and educated in the school system of the Jewish community. After spending a couple of years in yeshiva, he did a B.A. in the University of Economic Development and continued to be active with the Jewish world. He worked for Hillel as a program coordinator, and for JAFI as a DJ, animator, and counselor in the JCC in Tbilisi, where he also founded the Jewish Youth Club, Urban Studio, a Hip Hop and breakdance studio, and a band called Urban Sound. Valentin is an active participant in several leadership seminars and projects such as Metsuda, Dor Hadash, and We are the Future. A founder of the volunteer community center in Tbilisi, he is now working for JDC as a youth program, public relations, and mission coordinator. Valentin’s entire life is about establishing connections and developing Jewish life and the Jewish community and this is what he is most proud of.
